EdgeWrite
---------

EdgeWrite is a system originally developed for PDA's to make text input easier for people with motor impairments.

It works by detecting the order in which corners are hit within a small box. This makes the system equally useful for joystick based devices where you move the stick to hit the corners.

On the gp32 a lot of people have difficulties with diagonal directions, so to compensate for this EdgePad can allow you to use up, down, left, and right instead of the corners.

To use edgewrite you must have the file edgechar.cfg in gpetc. View the character chart (available at http://gp32.sector808.org/edgewrite.php) to see the pattern needed for each symbol. EdgePad will default to fix mode (where down is actually the bottom left corner, left is top left etc). If your diagonals work well then you can press select to switch to diagonal mode.

Move the joystick smoothly to the corners without letting go or pausing in the centre to draw a letter. The box in the bottom left corner shows the path you have taken. There is no need to rush - a letter will only be finished when the joystick returns to the centre.
